School's Cool

A History Notebook page...

The Plains Indians
Plains Indians ate buffalo meat as their main food. They made clothing, moccasins, blankets, shields, and tepees out of buffalo hides.

The Blackfeet were skilled buffalo hunters. The paintings on their tepees usually told the story of a man's bravery in a hunt.

The Atlantic Coast Indians
The first settlers met Algonkian tribes who hunted and fished along the Atlantic coast. The men built dome shaped wigwams of poles, which the women covered with bark or mats, leaving a hole to let out smoke.

  1. I found out recently that my family line goes back to the Blackfeet tribe somewhere! Not on the Cruz side but the Goulding side! I believe the Cruz side has Aztec background too! Cool!
